The sun, once sharp and high, begins to mellow. Its light tilts amber, its breath turns slow. Grain stands tall in the fields, heavy-headed and humming with heat.
The first fruits are gathered—the first loaves are born, warm from the oven. Across time and land, people have marked this crossing with bread and song, sweat and sacrifice.
This is the First Harvest: not just of grain, but of spirit. The wheel turns. The bright stretch of summer bends toward the gathering dark.
Lughnasadh is a threshold, balanced between fire and fade. A moment to pause, to look with clear eyes at what has ripened in you this year. What grew true? What fed you? What withered—and what must you return, now, to the earth?
Welcome to the turning.
Welcome to the harvest.
Regards, Rowan.
